Pounta is not Punda Beach
The Antiparos ferry leaves from Pounta on the west coast. Punda Beach is on the east coast. Check the map pin before entering a taxi or accepting a transfer quote.
Paros port connection
Two different routes: seasonal direct passenger boat or year-round ferry via Pounta
If the direct passenger boat is running soon after your arrival, it is the cleanest walk-on connection from Parikia and takes about 30 minutes. Outside its seasonal daytime window, travel south-west to Pounta by bus, taxi or transfer and take the seven-minute car ferry. The Pounta route runs year-round, later and carries vehicles.

Match the seasonal direct passenger boat or the year-round Pounta route to an onward ferry. Current first departures, unprotected connections, realistic recovery margins and early-ferry alternatives.

Open guideTime-sensitive timetable
The current direct Parikia–Antiparos passenger timetable lists nine departures each way and finishes around 19:30. The dated KTEL board valid 25 August–10 September lists 17 Parikia–Pounta buses each way, with the last departures around midnight, while the Pounta ferry continues into the early hours in peak season. Always align all three live boards with your ferry arrival date.
Our practical verdict
Take the direct passenger boat when it is operating soon, you are on foot and you are staying in or near Antiparos Town. Use Pounta for evening arrivals, vehicles, year-round reliability or accommodation requiring an onward car. Pre-book a through transfer when ferry-arrival crowds, mobility or luggage make two separate land legs awkward.

Travellers repeatedly assume that no search result means no service. Use the local operator's own timetable for both Antiparos routes.
Traveller discussions consistently describe the smaller direct Parikia boat as more exposed to strong wind than the short Pounta crossing. Treat that as practical experience, not a guarantee: check same-day operator notices.
Keep both routes in your plan. The direct boat is elegant when timings align; Pounta is the robust fallback.
Include disembarkation and the walk across the port. If the wait is short and the boat is operating, use it. If it has finished or is disrupted, switch to Pounta.
The KTEL station is beside Parikia port. Ferry-arrival crowds can fill a bus or taxi queue, so a pre-booked vehicle buys certainty rather than a faster ferry.
Buy onboard and cross in about seven minutes. Walk into Antiparos Town or use the planned bus, taxi or transfer for an address farther south.
The simplest daytime walk-on route when the seasonal boat is operating
Walk from your arriving ferry to the local Antiparos departure point in Parikia. The boat travels directly to Antiparos Town without the road leg to Pounta. It does not carry vehicles.
Check the official timetable on the day and allow a realistic walk from your arrival gate. Do not assume a ferry-booking search engine will list this local service.
The budget year-round route and the main fallback after the direct boat
From the KTEL station beside Parikia port, take the bus marked Pounta (Antiparos). At the west-coast terminal, walk onto the ferry. Antiparos Town begins at the arrival port.
Buy the bus ticket before boarding when possible; KTEL says onboard payment is card-only and costs more. Buy the ferry ticket onboard without reservation.
A direct road leg without waiting for the KTEL departure
Join the official taxi rank at Parikia port and request west-coast Pounta for the Antiparos ferry. Unless a full through journey is agreed, expect the taxi leg to finish before the ferry.
Use the rank or call the Parikia dispatch number. Confirm whether the meter will be used and whether luggage supplements apply.
Coordinated from your Parikia arrival to the final Antiparos address
The operator meets your ferry, takes the Pounta route and either crosses in the same vehicle or coordinates an Antiparos-side vehicle. This removes separate queues and protects the final island connection.
Provide the arriving ferry name and scheduled time, passenger and luggage count, and exact Antiparos address. Ask how long the driver waits after a ferry delay.
These observations are anecdotal, not official schedules or price guarantees. We use them to expose recurring friction, then verify the underlying facts against operator and government sources.
Forum users regularly ask why Antiparos is missing from booking engines. Local contributors point them to the Pounta shuttle and explain that tickets are not pre-booked. The official operator confirms this.
Read the discussion · Tripadvisor Antiparos forumDestination regulars report that the direct Parikia passenger boat can be cancelled in strong winds while the short, more sheltered Pounta route often continues. This is useful planning context, but only the operator can confirm a specific sailing.
Read the discussion · Tripadvisor traveller discussionRecent Parikia discussions report long taxi queues and high private quotes for short pickups when ferries unload. The lesson is not a universal price; it is to compare the official rank, bus and complete transfer quote before the travel day.
Read the discussion · Tripadvisor, Parikia port taxisYes, a seasonal passenger-only boat operates from Parikia to Antiparos Town. The current peak timetable lists nine sailings each way and a journey of about 30 minutes. Check the operator's live board because it is not the year-round route.
Travel by bus, taxi or transfer from Parikia to west-coast Pounta, then take the seven-minute vehicle ferry. The ferry runs year-round, but frequency changes by season.
No. The direct seasonal Parikia service is passenger-only. Vehicles use the Pounta–Antiparos ferry.
Traveller reports favour the short, sheltered Pounta crossing when the smaller direct boat is disrupted, but this is not a sailing guarantee. Check the local operator's same-day notices before moving to either departure point.
