Pounta is not Punda Beach
The Antiparos ferry leaves from Pounta on the west coast. Punda Beach is on the east coast. Check the map pin before entering a taxi or accepting a transfer quote.
Paros to Antiparos connection
Road to Pounta, then a seven-minute car-ferry crossing
The dependable route is west to Pounta, then the year-round car ferry to Antiparos. A through transfer can make it feel like one journey, but public transport currently means airport bus to Parikia, a second bus to Pounta and the ferry. If your Antiparos accommodation is outside town, plan the final island leg as well.

Plan the local ferry and Paros road leg as one departure journey. The first Pounta crossing, why public transport cannot serve early flights, pre-booked handoffs and when to sleep on Paros instead.
Open guideThe dated 25 August–10 September KTEL board has no direct airport bus: change in Parikia, or use a taxi or pre-booked transfer. The late-arrival cutoff, taxi-rank reality and central Naoussa drop-off restrictions.
Open guideA strong direct-transfer route because KTEL needs three buses via Parikia and Naoussa. Exact connection times, the dated 18:00 final-leg cutoff and why a Naoussa quote is not a Santa Maria quote.
Open guideChoose between the seasonal 30-minute direct passenger boat and the year-round Pounta route. Current operating spans, bus and taxi connections, weather fallback and late-arrival planning.
Open guideTime-sensitive timetable
The current Pounta ferry timetable runs about every 20 minutes for much of the day and continues into the early hours in peak season. The crossing takes about seven minutes. By contrast, the dated KTEL board valid 25 August–10 September lists 7 Airport–Parikia departures and ends at 20:20. Do not assume the late ferry solves a late airport arrival if you depend on buses.
Our practical verdict
Book a through transfer when you have children, several bags, a late flight or accommodation beyond Antiparos Town. Use the three-stage bus route only with a generous daytime margin. A taxi to Pounta plus the ferry works well, but arrange the Antiparos-side pickup before departure if the final address is not walkable from the port.
One booking from arrivals to the Antiparos address
Road leg + ferry wait + 7 min crossing + final drop-off
Fast road connection, then buy the local ferry onboard
Direct road leg + ferry wait + 7 min crossing
Two buses and the ferry: cheapest, but connection-heavy
Three stages; connection time varies
Convenient on Antiparos only when the rental agreement permits it
Pickup + road leg + ferry wait + crossing
The Antiparos ferry leaves from Pounta on the west coast. Punda Beach is on the east coast. Check the map pin before entering a taxi or accepting a transfer quote.
A road transfer can legally end at Pounta, before the ferry. A through quote should state ferry costs, whether the vehicle crosses or hands off, and the exact Antiparos address.
The municipality lists two island taxi contacts. Recent travellers report limited leverage and high short-hop quotes when demand is strong. Pre-arrange the final leg or use the island bus when practical.
Pounta is the year-round gateway. The seasonal passenger boat from Parikia is a separate service and usually does not improve an airport journey.
Use a through transfer, taxi, permitted rental car or the two-bus public route via Parikia. Verify the destination pin because Punda Beach is on the opposite side of Paros.
The operator offers no advance reservation. Passengers and vehicles board in order; cash and cards are accepted. The published crossing is about seven minutes.
Antiparos Town begins at the port and many central stays are walkable. For Soros, Agios Georgios or another outlying address, confirm the island bus, vehicle crossing or a pre-arranged pickup before leaving Paros.
One booking from arrivals to the Antiparos address
A vehicle can cross on the Pounta car ferry, or the operator may use a coordinated handoff on Antiparos. Both can work. The booking must name the actual final address and explain which model applies.
Ask whether ferry tickets, vehicle fare, waiting after a flight delay, child seats and the Antiparos road leg are included. A quote only to 'Antiparos ferry' may end at Pounta on Paros.
Fast road connection, then buy the local ferry onboard
Tell the driver 'Pounta for the Antiparos ferry' and verify the west-coast destination. At Pounta, walk aboard or cross with the taxi only if that has been explicitly agreed. Tickets are sold onboard and no advance reservation is offered.
Use the airport rank or call dispatch. If the taxi ends at Pounta, arrange the Antiparos-side leg separately before travel.
Two buses and the ferry: cheapest, but connection-heavy
Take Airport–Parikia, change to Parikia–Pounta (Antiparos), then walk onto the ferry. The dated KTEL board does not show a direct airport bus to Pounta or Antiparos.
Buy bus tickets before boarding where possible. Ferry tickets are sold onboard without advance reservation.
Convenient on Antiparos only when the rental agreement permits it
Collect the car, drive to west-coast Pounta and pay onboard for the vehicle and passengers. The ferry does not take advance reservations.
Get written confirmation that the vehicle may leave Paros and that insurance remains valid on Antiparos. Do not assume island-to-island ferry use is automatically permitted.
These observations are anecdotal, not official schedules or price guarantees. We use them to expose recurring friction, then verify the underlying facts against operator and government sources.
An August 2026 traveller reported unexpectedly expensive quotes for very short Antiparos taxi trips and little ability to shop around. One report cannot establish a market price, but it is a strong reason to agree the full route and price before arrival.
Read the discussion · Reddit, August 2026Recent forum questions focus on luggage, taking cars on the ferry and returning late. The official answer is clearer than the threads: the Pounta ferry carries vehicles, runs year-round and has late peak-season sailings, but the exact timetable must be checked for the travel date.
Read the discussion · Reddit /r/ParosTravel, August 2026A pre-booked operator can sell one through journey, but a ferry crossing is always involved. Public transport currently requires Airport–Parikia, Parikia–Pounta and the Pounta–Antiparos ferry.
No. The operator says tickets are sold onboard and advance reservations are not offered. Cash and cards are accepted, and vehicles can cross.
The ferry accepts vehicles, but the rental contract decides whether your specific car may cross and remain insured. Obtain written permission from the rental company.
Use a taxi or pre-booked transfer to Pounta or your full Antiparos address. The ferry may still be running much later, but the KTEL airport leg on the 25 August–10 September board ends at 20:20.
