Antiparos to onward ferry

Antiparos to Parikia Port

Direct seasonal passenger boat, or year-round ferry and road transfer via Pounta

For a daytime Parikia arrival, the seasonal direct passenger boat is the cleanest route and takes about 30 minutes. It currently starts at 09:15, so it cannot serve an early onward ferry. The year-round departure route is Antiparos to Pounta, then KTEL, taxi or a through transfer to Parikia port. None of these local legs protects an onward ferry ticket.

Time-sensitive timetable

Dated snapshot: direct boat 09:15–19:00; Pounta route starts at 06:10

The seasonal Antiparos–Parikia passenger timetable currently lists nine departures at 09:15, 09:45, 10:45, 11:30, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00. The Antiparos–Pounta ferry begins at 06:10 and runs much later; the first Pounta–Parikia bus on the KTEL board valid 25 August–10 September is 07:50. Use the direct boat only when its arrival leaves a safe onward-ferry check-in margin.

Our practical verdict

Match the route to the onward departure

Use the direct passenger boat when it runs early enough and you are travelling on foot. For an early, late or off-season onward ferry, use Pounta and pre-book the Paros-side road leg when the connection matters. KTEL is good value, but a bus scheduled close to the onward ferry is not a safe connection. If separate tickets make a missed ferry expensive, choose an earlier crossing.

Mistakes that cost time or money

Pounta is not Punda Beach

The Antiparos ferry leaves from Pounta on the west coast. Punda Beach is on the east coast. Check the map pin before entering a taxi or accepting a transfer quote.

The direct boat cannot serve early onward ferries

The current first Antiparos–Parikia sailing is 09:15. Use the 06:10-or-later Pounta ferry and a planned road leg, or stay in Parikia the previous night.

Separate ferry tickets mean separate risk

Do not expect an onward operator to rebook you because a local Antiparos service or road transfer ran late. Choose a larger margin when the onward fare is restrictive.

Connect two unprotected ferry systems safely

The Antiparos local service and an onward Cyclades ferry are separate journeys. Missing the second because the first was late is normally the passenger's risk.

  1. 1. Use the onward check-in time

Large ferries can require passengers to be at the gate before departure. Add the walk across Parikia port and time to identify the correct vessel.

  2. 2. Choose direct boat or Pounta

Use the direct passenger boat only when it operates and leaves a large margin. Otherwise select an earlier Pounta ferry and reserve the road leg when timing matters.

  3. 3. Keep one recovery option

A safe plan contains an earlier local ferry or an alternative vehicle. The last mathematically possible connection is not the recommended one.

Journey
About 30 minutes
Availability
Nine current departures, 09:15–19:00

How it works

Board the local passenger boat at Antiparos Town and travel directly into Parikia harbour. No vehicle is carried. Confirm where it lands relative to the gate of your onward ferry and allow time to walk with luggage.

Before you book

Use the local operator timetable rather than a national booking engine. Tickets are local and the service is seasonal. Check same-day notices when wind is strong.

Best for

  • Daytime foot passengers with a generous onward-ferry margin

Less suitable for

  • Onward ferries before the first direct boat
  • Vehicles or strong-wind disruption

Useful details

  • •The current first direct sailing is 09:15; early ferries from Parikia need the Pounta route or a previous-night stay.
  • •Traveller reports describe the direct boat as more weather-sensitive than the short Pounta crossing; only the operator can confirm the day.

Pounta ferry + KTEL to Parikia

The budget year-round route for later onward departures

Lowest cost
Cost
Ferry + one KTEL ticket
Journey
Ferry + unprotected bus wait + road leg
Availability
First Pounta–Parikia bus 07:50 on the dated board

How it works

Take the seven-minute ferry to Pounta and board KTEL for the main station beside Parikia port. The dated board lists 17 Pounta–Parikia buses, but the bus is not held for a late ferry. The 23:30 departure is marked as travelling through Voutakos and Aliki.

Before you book

Select a bus that reaches Parikia before the onward carrier's check-in deadline with at least one recovery option. Buy the ferry ticket onboard and the KTEL ticket before boarding where possible.

Best for

  • Budget travel with a later ferry and light luggage

Less suitable for

  • A tight separate-ticket connection
  • The earliest Parikia ferries

Useful details

  • •A few minutes between ferry and bus is not a safe plan when carrying luggage.
  • •Pounta appears as 'Punda (Antiparos)' on the KTEL board; it is not Punda Beach.

Pre-book the car to meet a named sailing

How it works

Walk onto the Pounta ferry, then meet the driver at the Paros landing for a direct trip to Parikia port. Give the onward ferry company and gate if known, not only 'Parikia'.

Before you book

Reserve before leaving Antiparos and share the exact ferry. Confirm the driver's waiting policy if the local ferry is delayed and whether the quote includes port or luggage supplements.

Best for

  • Onward ferry deadlines, groups and substantial luggage

Less suitable for

  • Turning up at Pounta without a confirmed car

Useful details

  • •Ferry-arrival periods can absorb much of the island taxi fleet at Parikia; reserve rather than relying on dispatch at the last moment.
  • •Ask for the closest legal drop-off to the onward gate.

Pre-booked around both ferry schedules

How it works

The provider collects at the Antiparos address, crosses or hands off at Pounta, and delivers to the closest legal point for the onward Parikia ferry. One booking controls both land legs and the local crossing plan.

Before you book

Provide the onward company, departure time, requested check-in time, every bag and Antiparos pickup point. Ask which earlier local ferry the operator will use and how missed-connection responsibility is described.

Best for

  • Families, groups, mobility needs and valuable onward tickets

Less suitable for

  • Foot passengers who safely match the direct passenger boat

Useful details

  • •A quote ending at Pounta is not a through transfer to Parikia port.
  • •Ask for a written pickup time based on the onward check-in deadline, not only its departure time.

What recent travellers are reporting

These observations are anecdotal, not official schedules or price guarantees. We use them to expose recurring friction, then verify the underlying facts against operator and government sources.

Travellers worry about the short Pounta bus connection

A recurring forum question notes that ferry and bus times can leave only a few minutes at Pounta. That concern is valid for an onward-ferry day: choose an earlier crossing or reserve a car rather than assuming the bus waits.

Recent travellers still plan around very early Parikia departures

A July 2026 logistics thread asked whether the then-published first Naoussa bus was safe for a 07:00 Parikia ferry. That exact bus time has changed and the service was never direct from Antiparos. The useful lesson is to sleep in Parikia or use the earliest Pounta crossing with a reserved car when the onward departure is very early.

The direct boat is valued, but Pounta is the fallback

Traveller discussions repeatedly describe the direct boat as convenient for foot passengers and the Pounta route as the option for earlier, later or wind-affected travel. Treat weather comments as experience and follow the operator's same-day notice.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a direct boat from Antiparos to Parikia?+

Yes, seasonally and for foot passengers only. The current timetable lists nine departures from 09:15 to 19:00 and a journey of about 30 minutes. It cannot serve an early onward ferry.

How do I reach an early ferry from Parikia?+

Use the first suitable Antiparos–Pounta ferry and a pre-booked vehicle from Pounta, or stay in Parikia the previous night. The first Pounta–Parikia bus on the 25 August–10 September board is 07:50, so public transport cannot serve the earliest departures.

Will my onward ferry wait if the Antiparos connection is late?+

No. These are separate operators and normally separate tickets. Leave a large check-in margin and at least one recovery option, especially when the onward ticket is restrictive.
