This full-day safari covers the most significant natural and historical sites on Milos, from Bronze Age ruins to volcanic coastline to early Christian underground tunnels. A professional driver-guide leads a group of no more than four guests in a Jeep Wrangler, traveling a mix of paved roads and unpaved volcanic tracks. Departure times are 09:15 from Adamantas or 09:30 from Pollonia.
The morning begins at Phylakopi, an ancient Minoan settlement overlooking the sea, followed by the Papafragas sea channels and Sarakiniko, the white volcanic formation shaped by centuries of wind and waves. The route continues through the fishing hamlets of Mandrakia — known for its painted syrmata boathouses — and Firopotamos, where a whitewashed church stands against steep cliffs and clear swimming water.
At midday, a freshly prepared Greek barbecue is served on-site: grilled pork and chicken skewers, Greek salad, tzatziki, artisan cheese, and seasonal fruit, paired with local table wine and soft drinks. The afternoon covers Tripiti Village and the Catacombs of Milos, where early Christian tunnels, frescoes, and burial chambers are accessed with included entry tickets. The tour ends with a walk through Klima, a seafront row of colorfully painted boathouses dating back generations.
The tour is suitable for families with children from age six. Guests should wear closed-toe shoes and bring swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, and a towel. The itinerary may be adjusted for weather or site conditions. Not recommended for pregnant women, guests with severe back or neck injuries, or those sensitive to prolonged heat exposure.
