Jeep Safari Sunset Tour in Milos — 4-Hour Off-Road & Hilltop Adventure

No reviews yet4hModerateEnglish, GreekFamily friendlyPickup availableInstant confirmationSmall group · max 12

This afternoon jeep safari covers the most distinctive geological and cultural sites on Milos in a single 4-hour loop, departing when the midday heat eases. The fleet of Jeep Wranglers handles both sealed coastal roads and unpaved volcanic tracks, keeping groups small — a maximum of four guests per vehicle — so stops are unhurried and photography is easy. The route begins in either Adamantas or Pollonia and works north through the island. Mandrakia is the first stop: a compact fishing harbour where syrmata — brightly painted boat garages carved directly into the cliff face — line the waterfront. From there the road leads to Sarakiniko, the flat white volcanic plateau where wind-smoothed rock meets the sea. The afternoon light hits the pale stone at an angle that intensifies its colour. Papafragas follows: a series of deep, narrow sea channels cut through dark volcanic walls, with turquoise water visible far below. The route then goes fully off-road toward Panagia Giatrissa and the Theorichio sulfur mine, where roofless stone structures and rust-stained rock sit at the edge of the coast. The tour ends at the monastery of Panagia Tourliani, positioned above Plaka village and away from the main tourist circuit. An open-air picnic is served here: local cheese, seasonal fruit, light snacks, and unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks. Sunset over the Aegean is visible from this elevation without obstruction. Departure back to Adamantas or Pollonia follows once the picnic stop concludes. This tour is not a swimming excursion — stops at coastal sites are timed for walking and photography. The off-road sections involve bumpy unpaved tracks and walking on uneven volcanic rock, so comfortable shoes and light, flexible clothing are recommended. The tour is not suitable for guests with serious mobility issues.
