This private tour covers the north and central parts of Milos by 4x4, starting from your accommodation at the time shown on the booking calendar for a 4-hour experience before returning you to your accommodation. A professional driver-guide takes you to six distinct stops across volcanic coastline, abandoned industrial ruins, and elevated sanctuaries — areas that standard road vehicles cannot easily access.
The route begins at the fishing village of Mandrakia, where rows of syrmata boathouses are built into the rock. From there you move to Sarakiniko, the flat white volcanic formation that extends into the sea, arriving in the soft late-afternoon light before the main crowds leave. Papafragas follows — a narrow inlet carved by the sea into dark volcanic rock, with water visible deep below. An off-road track then leads up to the isolated chapel of Panagia Giatrissa and down to the ruined sulfur mines at Theorichio on the coast.
The final stop is the monastery of Panagia Tourliani, set above Plaka. This is where the picnic takes place: a platter of local cheeses, seasonal fruit, and light snacks served with chilled wine, beer, soft drinks, and water, timed to coincide with sunset over the Aegean. The view is unobstructed and the site sees little tourist traffic at this hour.
The tour is fully private — the vehicle and guide are exclusive to your group throughout. The itinerary can be adjusted on the day based on your preferences or weather conditions. All fuel, insurance, and guide fees are included. The price for the full group is €550, with €110 collected as a deposit at booking and €440 due on the day.
