The experience begins before sunrise on the Lasithi Plateau, a broad mountain valley in eastern Crete ringed by peaks and dotted with stone windmills. Your group — and only your group — boards a private balloon basket after a one-on-one safety briefing from a certified commercial pilot. The flight itself lasts around 40 minutes, drifting with the morning air currents at altitude with unobstructed views across the plateau fields, mountain ridges, and surrounding villages.
After a smooth landing, the pilot leads the traditional aeronaut's toast with a glass of sparkling wine. You also receive a personalized flight certificate and a breakfast box prepared with fresh local Cretan produce. The post-flight setting is unhurried — there are no other tour groups sharing the field.
Departure time is set approximately 12 hours before the flight based on weather forecasts, and guests are notified directly. Hotel pickup is offered from the zones listed under pickup details: no charge between Heraklion and Malia, a charge per person from the other listed zones. The flight operates daily from April through October, subject to wind and visibility conditions.
