Temple of Poseidon Sunset Tour at Cape Sounio with Dinner

This private tour departs Athens each afternoon and travels south along the Athens Riviera to Cape Sounio, arriving in time for sunset over the Aegean. The first stop is Lake Vouliagmeni, a small warm brackish lake fed by underground channels from Mount Hymettus. Formed roughly 2,000 years ago when a natural cavern collapsed, the lake maintains a water temperature that rarely drops below 18 °C. The stop lasts about 30 minutes and admission is free. At Cape Sounio, the Temple of Poseidon stands nearly 60 metres above sea level on the southern tip of Attica. Built between 444 and 440 BC during the Golden Age of Athens, it is one of the most significant monuments of ancient Greece. You spend around one hour at the site. The entrance fee of €15 per person is paid on arrival and is not included in the tour price. After the temple visit, the driver recommends two or three traditional taverns close to the site, all facing the sea. You choose where to eat — meat or seafood — and pay the meal bill directly at the restaurant. Allow about two hours for dinner before the return drive to Athens.
